Not fully dressed without a smile

Karabo “We are never fully dressed without a smile and we should learn from the kids that even thou they come from the struggle and living in pain and poverty they always have that moment in every day were they feel so happy and positive when little things make them smile or laugh… ”

The inner child said you’re not fully dressed without a smile
While the ninja invasion said you are not fully dressed without a mask
As we have always masked our emotions
Life was simpler when children were happy with bare feet and ashy skin, sweat was a sign of a day well spent
Under the belt they repent
Just to go back at the thrill of life the next moment
Hunger was easily disrupted by a good chase with good friends
Nix 5tense
Awu fun’uku dlala nam
Pick up stones and turn them to characters, creating a sounding sequence
How many movies are carved in stone?
Alone on the green grass the storyline is produced, directed and performed by an outcast with a beautiful mind
Some find their smile painted on canvas
We will play until we drop
Now living standards have separated us
Honestly at the end of they day we are all feeling alone
With or without that paper

Which is worse
Alone on the dusty ground aiming through 2 bricks
Or to lose your marbles in dark rooms
While the door is shut and the widow of opportunities sealed off
and the these 4 walls seem to get closer
Intrusive to your solace
Whispers of evil deeds deem you unworthy
Even when you burst a scream of excruciation
They don’t back off
A moment of silence has turned you into an intruder of the outside

Bheki Mphahlele
He just needed a friend
Someone he can talk to and not feel weird, unwanted
There are sounds of laughter outside, he is just a wall away
And no one even asks to see him
Misunderstood and not supported
He wages his wars with these walls
Sometimes even with the walls of his temple
But this is a sad story that has no end yet

“Art saved my life
The slogan of the creative discipleship
To the God’s of color, tone and craft
Which craft you question
The answer is in the spirit that seeks soul to express it in physical form
And so they sing
Made beads
Carved skin
Beat drums
And dance
On the blazing fire
Is a boiling pot of conflict and balance
Fear spills over
But the burning desire has elevated the catalyst
Fear has no place when you are standing here
Drink from the cup of pure refreshment

so many Bheki Mphahleles fill the walls of our art galleries with the sounds they heard and the stories they had to make up to survive their dark rooms. I honour the Bheki Mphahleles that gave my laughter and cries from the streets a story I couldn’t share, they gave my story a voice and picture
