The dire industry

Books
Books read
Books ripped apart, burnt and dumped
Blueprints destroyed in this weak reading culture
While the authors…
The authors don’t even know where their next meal will come from
They can’t even buy houses with their books
Yet they have fed the mind with food for thought
Healed hearts with words of comfort
And they remain unaccomplieshed with torn clothes, worn out shoes and shabby backgrounds on virtual meetings
Plagiarism is a plague faced by these beautiful minds
They continue to jot down their times and truths
Floods come and destroy their inked realities
Leaving drought to the barren book covers that once held fountains of knowledge. A plethora of content that dried up tears of centuries on blank stares. A new beautiful beast has arrived scraping away indigenous authenticity. It’s artificial intelligence of the digital era. A work of its own art. A masterpiece of spiced up curation. Perhaps well funded by the cloud that serves as a shield to dim the bright light that was shared genuinely.

For the sake of our sanityWe are heads and pens downAnd continue writing

    Hi Lebo…

I have read and gotten emotional, based on the truths and harsh circumstances we find ourselves in as “abusers of the pen”

Your work is amazingly amazing… keep at it. *Winks*
